L.I.F.E., Inc To Host a Banana Split Social at Farmington Oaks Senior Center
The L.I.F.E. Center for Independent Living will be hosting a Banana Split Social at the Farmington Oaks Senior Center on September 9th from 11am till 1pm. More than an "Ice Cream Social", the "Banana Split Social" includes all the toppings to make the most perfect and personal banana split that you would care to make.
The L.I.F.E. Center has partnered with Prairie Farms Dairy and Farmington Harps to make this event happen. The goal of this social is to help make the community aware of the services that L.I.F.E., Inc. provides and the individuals that can benefit from those services.
LIFE, Inc. is a local non-profit disability and senior resource center. They assist consumers by researching programs and partnerships to aid with the various needs of individuals. These programs and partnerships help consumers to live independently in their homes. They offer assistance through their In Home and Consumer Directed Services programs. The In Home program places an attendant for the consumer in their home to do daily household tasks. The Consumer Directed Services program allow the consumers to select and employ an attendant of their own choice for the assistance. Other programs and services include: advocacy, peer support, information and referral, Assistive Technology, transportation services (limited to medical and essential service needs), Medicaid eligibility and qualification, durable medical equipment loans, transition services and more.
