DOE RUN HOSTS FREE EVENT AT MISSOURI MINES STATE HISTORIC SITE IN PARK HILLS “Spring Rocks ’N Roll” event April 13 celebrates minerals, music and memories! ST. LOUIS (April 2, 2024) – The Doe Run Company (Doe Run) is pleased to announce a free, family-friendly event sponsored by Doe Run and hosted by Missouri Department of Natural Resources at the Missouri Mines State Historic Site in Park Hills, Missouri. The event takes place Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the site. The event is an expanded and reimagined version of a former event, “Fall Rocks,” previously held annually in October. “We are thrilled to offer an expanded educational and interactive event this year,” said Randy Hanning, general manager of Doe Run’s SEMO Mining and Milling division. “Our goal is to provide a fun, hands-on experience for families and individuals with a focus on minerals, mining and the technologies and equipment that drive the minerals industry. Missouri has a rich mining history that dates back 300 years and positions the state as 10th in the country for the value mining provides to the U.S.” Doe Run and its employees will provide indoor and outdoor activities, including a children’s battery-operated, ride and drive mine equipment obstacle course, a drone flying station for adults, “gold” panning, a mineral trivia game, cookie mining, and more. Additionally, the band Broseph Tucker will perform live and food and soft drinks will be available for purchase from local food trucks Whisker Fish, Bailey Jo’s, Unwrapped, and Montgomery’s Mini’s. Doe Run will also host a job recruitment booth for those looking to learn more about working in the mining and metals industry. Visitors are encouraged to register to win one of four free bicycles that will be raffled off toward the end of the event.
