Duane began his full-time Gospel Music career at 18 with The Lesters, a family singing group from St. Louis. He drove their bus, ran sound, and scheduled dates, traveling extensively throughout America and Canada, spending an average of 285 days on the road annually from 1989 to 1998.
In 1998, Duane joined the Albert E. Brumley & Sons Music Company, the publisher of ''I'll Fly Away,'' as Director of Marketing & Promotions for America’s largest summer sing in Powell, MO. He worked there until the summer of 2012, when he founded Signature Concerts.
Since 1989, Duane has been a Concert & Event Emcee, honored to emcee at major events like The National Quartet Convention, Silver Dollar City’s Southern Gospel Picnic, and the Memphis Quartet Show. Additionally, he emcees numerous “one-night” programs across America, including community events, fairs, festivals, talent shows, parades, and various other functions.
Duane married Micki on May 29, 2004, and they have three children: twins Andy & Allie, born Sept 1, 2006, and Macy, born November 18, 2007.
Since 2000, Duane has hosted the radio show “Gospel Music Get-Together,” airing each Sunday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 AM Central Time on 95.9 FM in Monett, MO, and available online at www.kkbl959.com or on the KKBL app.
In 2009, Duane underwent colon cancer surgery and intense chemotherapy and praises the Lord for being declared “cancer free” by his oncologist.
The Garren family are active members of the Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church near Purdy, MO, where Duane serves as song leader and deacon.
