Farmington Sports Complex to be Re-Named the Bud Norman Sports Complex

The City of Farmington will hold a re-dedication ceremony on October 4, 2024, at 4:00 PM to rename the Farmington Sports Complex after long-time Farmington Parks and Recreation employee, Bud Norman.

Bud Norman was employed with the City of Farmington from 1977 to 2022 and worked as the Parks and Recreation Director. Bud is well remembered for his work with the department and for creating many programs, including the Wiggle and Giggle Fishing Derby. He was an integral part of the development of the city’s parks and recreation facilities. Notable achievements include the development of Engler Park, Farmington Sk8 Park, and numerous other recreational amenities.

The Farmington Sports Complex, located at 1100 Sainte Genevieve Avenue in Farmington, consists of 4 baseball/softball fields, batting cages, a playground, and concessions. It regularly hosts games and tournaments and is open to the public. After the re-dedication, work will begin on the renovation of the sports complex, including a new concession stand, new bathrooms, signage, backstops, fencing, dugouts, and equipment.
