Accountant

The City of Farmington is accepting applications for a Full-Time Accountant.


This position is responsible for performing professional-level accounting duties to ensure accurate reporting of financial transactions for city operations, programs, and services.


This position supports fiscal integrity through reconciliation, analysis, and reporting, while also providing audit support and assisting other departments as needed.


A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting or an accounting support role is required. A combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Strong computer skills are essential including the ability to program reports in Tyler Technologies and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.


Starting pay is $23.00 per hour with periodic increases up to $27.98 per hour. The City offers an excellent benefit package including fully paid employee health, dental, vision, and life insurance, LAGERS retirement program, paid vacation and sick time, tuition reimbursement, and more. The total added value of the benefits package is an additional $7.08 per hour.
