Position Description Summary

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for supporting Farmington Regional Chamber’s non-dues revenue programs, events, and communications functions. This position is housed in a professional business environment where strong relationship-building and communication skills, diplomacy and confidentiality are required. This position is part-time, four days per week for approximately 26 hours per week.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Planning, implementation, and marketing of community events including the golf tournament, business conference, Christmas Parade, annual banquet and Farmington Country Days
  • Volunteer and committee management for various events
  • Coordination of marketing communications, including official e-newsletter and other online publications, social media management, promotional materials, web content and press releases
  • Oversight of non-dues revenue programs and sponsorship fulfillment
  • Assistance with various community development projects
  • Oversight of non-dues revenue projects such as: community map, chamber wall advertising, annual sponsorship menu, and development of additional non-dues revenue programs as needed.

Job Requirements:

Excellent writing skills; demonstrated mastery of grammar and punctuation; the ability to communicate clearly; resourcefulness; strong organizational skills; the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and function effectively in an electronic business environment; flexibility and responsiveness to team needs; tact, diplomacy, and respect for confidential information.

Experience with web-based communications and social media apps is preferred. Basic graphic design skills and knowledge of printing processes are considered an asset.

High School Diploma or GED Required

Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred, or a minimum of two years’ experience
