FARMINGTON, MO –  Participants in the 2025 Mineral Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised more than $54,000 to support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association. They surpassed their goal of $51,000 and are still raising funds. Further donations can be made at alz.org/MineralArea.

“The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter sincerely thanks the many dedicated Walk participants, volunteers and sponsors who made the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s a tremendous success,” said Maddie Erwin, Walk Manager “The funds raised will help fuel disease research while also providing critical care and support to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia here in our community.”

This record-breaking fundraising year was made possible thanks to the commitment of local sponsors, including BJC Parkland Health Center, Serenity Hospice, NHC Desloge, Farmington Presbyterian Manor, Nelson Agency: Farmers Insurance, Harmony Chiropractic, Frist State Community Bank, Ozarks Federal Savings & Loan, Cedarhurst Senior Living, Raider Mechanical Inc., and Ozark Federal Credit Union.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held at Mineral Area College on September 27 and was attended by over 300 participants. Families gathered together to support each other, listen to inspiring speakers, fundraise, and walk across the college campus in support of those facing Alzheimer’s and remembrance of loved ones who passed with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 12 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Missouri, there are more than 122,300 people living with the disease and 226,000 caregivers.
