Farmington R-7 School Board Selects Next Superintendent

The Farmington R-7 Board of Education has selected Dr. Jeri Kay Hardy as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Hardy will begin her role on July 1, 2026.

Dr. Hardy currently serves as Superintendent of the Gasconade County R-II School District and brings 24 years of experience in education. Her career has included roles as a Parents as Teachers educator, elementary teacher, literacy coach, district data coordinator, assistant principal, and high school principal before moving into district leadership.

“The Farmington R-7 Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Jeri K. Hardy as the incoming superintendent,” said Board President Angela Hahn. “Dr. Hardy brings experience, expertise, and energy to the superintendency. The board encourages staff and the community to welcome Dr. Hardy to Farmington.”

Dr. Hardy earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri and previously served as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in Gasconade County R-II before becoming superintendent in 2021. She has been recognized with the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals Emerging Principal of the Year (Southeast District) and the South Central Emerging Superintendent of the Year awards.

Originally from rural Southeast Missouri, Dr. Hardy said Farmington’s strong community connection stood out to her during the search process.

“What drew me to the Farmington R-7 community is the strong sense of support and connection between the district, students, staff, and families,” Hardy said. “It’s clear that Farmington values creating a positive environment where students can succeed.”

As she begins her work in the district, Dr. Hardy said her initial priorities will include building relationships, maintaining strong academic achievement for all students, and focusing on responsible budget planning.

“I am honored to join the Farmington School District and serve the students, families, and staff of this community,” Hardy said. “I look forward to building relationships and continuing the strong work already happening in the district. Go Knights.”

Dr. Hardy and her husband, Rick, have been married for 31 years and have two grown children and five grandchildren.
