Apprenticeship Coordinator (Grant Funded)

Position Summary

The Apprenticeship Coordinator will develop tailored apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs designed to equip students for careers in the high-demand fields of manufacturing, education, and healthcare. This role involves establishing and nurturing partnerships with a broad spectrum of employers and K-12 representatives in the College's service region, to generate valuable apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship opportunities for students. 

This position is fully funded through June 30, 2028. 

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Number of Apprenticeships Created: Total count of new apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs developed and implemented.
  2. Employer/K-12 Partnerships Established: Number and quality of partnerships formed with employers and K-12 partners.
  3. Student Enrollment and Participation: Number of students enrolled in apprenticeship programs and their level of participation and engagement.
  4. Program Completion Rates: Percentage of students who successfully complete the apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship programs.
  5. Employment Placement Rates: Percentage of program graduates who secure employment in their field of study within a specified period after program completion.
  6. Grant Utilization: Percentage of grant funds used effectively and according to the grant requirements.
  7. Program Satisfaction: Feedback and satisfaction ratings from both students and employers regarding the apprenticeship programs. 

Essential Functions

  1. Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to design and implement training programs that address the needs of local businesses and industry partners through registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship initiatives. Partner with business and industry representatives to develop essential components of these programs, and assist throughout various stages of their development, including resource allocation to achieve program goals.
  2. Engage in the creation and assessment of Work-Based Learning (WBL), apprenticeships, and on-the-job training opportunities.
  3. Work closely with college departments, K-12 representatives, employer partners and workforce development staff to create sustainable career pathways through apprenticeships.
  4. Support outreach efforts to raise awareness and recruit students into apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs.
  5. Ensure adherence to the standards set by Lead College and the Department of Labor for Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship programs.
  6. Actively participate in relevant committees, task forces, and professional associations at the campus, regional, and state levels. Represent the college in interactions with local workforce development partners, business organizations, and economic development groups.
  7. Work with the Workforce Development Director to establish effective communication processes for timely project updates

Technical skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
  • Experience with Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System (RAPIDS) is preferred, but not required.

Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources Development, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Consideration will be given to applicants with an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Work Experience:

Experience in grant management, education, workforce development, apprenticeship, and recruitment preferred.     

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Working in a professional office environment this position requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, light lifting, grasping, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion. Ability to drive for extended periods. 

This role may require flexibility for overnight travel and working early mornings, evenings, and weekends to support student recruitment and related activities.
